Marta Iria

I am a Professional Translator and Proofreader with a giant passion for literature and foreign languages. I have a degree in Languages, Literatures and Cultures (Major in English Studies) from the Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa and a Masters in Translation from the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Throughout my professional career, I have worked in the most varied areas and projects in the field of translation (from medical to marketing), which has allowed me to improve my general knowledge, my research techniques and build my resource bases such as glossaries, term bases, etc., thus being able to guarantee speed and quality in all my services.

I have an excellent command of both Portuguese and English, and I feel comfortable in translating and writing in either language. I also translate from Spanish into Portuguese and English and I am always striving to learn new things as well as improve my professional skills.

My hobbies and personal projects inevitably become intertwined with my love for languages, the world of translation and personal growth and enrichment. They include, among others, a good book, all kinds of films and shows, video games, ornithology and, finally, writing, be it of reflections and critiques inspired by the world and influences that surround me, as well as original short stories.
